SECOND HALF [20:43]
We feel good to know our gym is being used for so much more.
Today’s podcast is a recorded speech I gave when we Maxed Out our Faith on Jan 26th at FMU.
The main message:
“You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. You therefore must endure[a] hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.” (2 Tim 2:1-4)
How to Max Out:
1. Shift your perspective:
Grace is a gift; you can’t earn it. There’s no pressure. Good works don’t get you into heaven. “Focus on that strength in Grace.”
2. Shape your path:
However, because of Grace (what Jesus did for you), you find motivation to enlist in strict training. Be self disciplined. WANT to guard up every day and do what your commanding officer says. Not because you have to, because it’s your part to….
3. Show Progress:
It’s our duty as Christians to progress every day. Especially because of what we know, we should compete hardcore to make progress. Grace transforms. Walking in faith keeps transforming. God does his part, we have to do ours. Why?? Because “if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.” (1 Tim 4:15-16)
It’s not about you but it starts with you.
Just like in the gym we all need spotters to help us keep pushing for one more and never give up. Paul spotted Timothy. Jesus spots us. We need to spot others and continue making disciples of all nations by bringing them to strength in Grace from Jesus.
Next up: Feb 23. We’ll see you there.
